Wonderful, deep powerful acceptance.
It reminds me of one Zen master who simply spoke "I agree, I agree, I agree..."

I will walk through my day with amused acceptance that that which is happening to "them" around me is happening to me; then when those things happen to (the illusion of the discrete) me, I will have practice with the compassion I seem to be able to generate for "them" !~~ thank you for your great spirit. Whoa, that’s meaningful. I have a friend who used to tell me such things too! He’s spiritual and emotional, but he has a lot of guts to do the things right every day. Diane’s car accident probably opened up her mind about this, but her grandfather is the one who should be given utmost appreciation. Truly, our elders give us words that should be treasured and kept.
