This linkblog is a warehouse for posts related to a yet to be revealed grassroots media and marketing project - more specifically an "artisan journalism" & customer artisans project. It's actually two interrelated projects. OK, ok, the first is a nonprofit anniversary media tour this December to tsunami-struck Indian Ocean region this coming December with bloggers, amateur writers (root word: 'for love of') with a personal connection (survivors, aid workers), journalists, photographers. Why We Buy the Celeb Story

Why we buy the celebrity story…according to Seth Godin it's part of the "lie" (All Marketers Are Liars is his new book). Snippet:

So, otherwise rational and intelligent men spend hundreds or thousands of dollars extra to buy a watch endorsed by a fictional character controlled by anonymous film producers and embodied by an actor. Because it makes them feel good. They buy the story.
