Ho'oponopono is actually a process that works well all by ourselves once we get the hang of it, meaning that I could have just focused on doing Ho'oponopono myself as I have been for the last 7-8 years, but I thought it would be beneficial to get others involved in these times.
If you re-read the original notice announcing the workshop, see http://bit.ly/circulate-joy you will notice we are going to be perceiving our own "projections" and reflections and specifically, right now the focus will be on any joy that is "seeping" out and the life-force that circulates within us. The healing and clean-up of the Gulf Coast ends up being a by-product -- in other words acting as an external gauge so to speak, and not the main focal point. You, yourself, are the focal point -- not healing the ocean.
So, I thought that Lise Bourbeau (there are others like her that also inquire into the patterns, and/or symbols behind any disorder, distress, etc) would be a good start.
[FOR WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS:] For the tailored, interactive part, if you know of anyone close to you that has an illness (particularly something recently diagnosed, or anything chronic or degenerative if it's not recent), please share with me.
When I first came to NYC, I was bombarded by folks I met coming out of the woodwork with all kinds of newly diagnosed diseases -- from a kidney transplant failing (needs a new one soon) to MS to hip surgery to a rare blood disease. (And it was the blood disease that got me seeing the broader message of the Gulf oil spill.) However, each of those pointed to something within myself that needed to be received, embraced, heard. So I considered each illness to be a very direct 2X4 whack (er, also known as a "message" when other subtler nudges of intuition haven't gotten through), and the message wants to be heard and understood first before it's healed.
First, before we cover the steps to Ho'oponopono, let's see where we might be unknowingly blocking or placing barriers to joy. Let's see if we can stay present and see the joy there is there. For the record, I don't see joy as something to acquire or something to do or find as much as the substrate of natural existence, ever-present and available. So it is not dependent on doing something in particular as much as subtle shift in noting its presence, perhaps.
That's what the second reading is about. Again that reading is at What Touches You in Life?
From the book, "YOUR BODY'S TELLING YOU: LOVE YOURSELF! The most complete book on metaphysical causes of illness and diseases," by Lise Bourbeau
BLOOD DISORDERS:
PHYSICAL BLOCK Blood is the fluid that is circulated by the heart through the vascular system carrying oxygen and nutrients throughout the body and wastes to excretory channels. Once all nutrients and waste materials are delivered, the blood is cleansed through the filtering process carried out by the lymph fluid. Blood is formed by cells suspended in liquid, or plasma. The quality of the blood reflects the overall health of the body and its integrity is vital to homeostatis, as it serves to administer to and manage the entire physical body. It also serves as informant, transporting and distributing hormones. The following definition applies to all problems affecting the quality of blood and its different functions.
EMOTIONAL BLOCK On a physical level, blook serves to manage and oversee the body's processes. Blood disorders, therefore, indicate difficulty in administering and managing your life according to your true needs. Living true to yourself means experiencing life with acceptance and joy. Over-dramatizing situations and a tendency to be myopic or unable to see a larger picture can make your life unmanageable. It may be that you have lost your joie de vivre because of a profound sense of something lacking. You worry too much and have a tendency to let your blood boil over situations that involve other people. Your overemotional and over-reactive tendencies actually block your sensitivity. Blood represents the life force and, as such, must be continually free flowing and vital. Having too much composure can also block your sensitivity. Keeping your cool may be interpreted as insensitivity or cold-bloodedness, because your feelings are hidden from others.
MENTAL BLOCK The vitally important role of blood on a physical level reflects the level of importance of joy and self-acceptance in the management of your life. Blood disorders are an urgent message from your body that you need a profound shift in your self-image. You are worth much more than you think. The quality of your life depends on your realization of your own worth and your true needs. You are in need of a good transfusion of unconditional love, which is the main element to improve the quality of your blood. Accept and love yourself unconditionally, as if you were someone you really cared about. In nurturing yourself in this way, the quality of your life will improve. As blood feeds your body, so must you feed your own soul. It is up to you to manage your life; no one can do it for you. Instead of waiting for help because you think you can't do it alone, make a list! Make a list of your talents and abilities and what you've accomplished in your life up to now. Communicate with that inner voice that you are the most important person in your life. You are on Earth for the purpose of your own evolution, no one else's. Only you can see to this.
p.s. As Lise Bourbeau is relatively new-to-me teacher, I looked up a bit more about her: "In
1941, Lise Bourbeau was born in Quebec, the fourth of eleven children.
Surrounded by unconditional love and acceptance, she developed courage,
balance and a sense of conviction that produced a wellspring of ideas
on health, love, success and happiness."
