Works of Love Award

Some time ago I quipped that my marketing philosophy in three words or less was: Love attracts love, or better yet simply the verb: love.

Joseph Campbell gushes in his essay "The Mythology of Love" that the Holy Grail myth of the knight Parzival by Wolfram von Eschenbach includes all aspects of love including passion and compassion. Campbell gushes Parzival is "one of the richest, greatest, most civilized works of the European Middle Ages; and as a monument, moreover, to the world-saving power of love in all its forms, perhaps the very greatest love story of all time."

In that vein, I'd like to recognize works of love (relax, I won't be comparing your blog to the classical myths) in the blogosphere. Hugh has his Beyond Lame award - so this is the "Works of Love" award. Of course a work of love is its own reward.

I think we recognize passion when we see it, but compassion? Read this post and this to get a sense of what I mean.

I encourage you to perform your own works of love in both small doses and grand gestures (not confined to the blogosphere either).
