Or so said the cover of the August Utne (not online yet). They included a reprint from the February issue of The Village Voice. It's a humor piece by a twenty something non-blogger lamenting how no one wants to talk in person over a beer instead preferring to blog their discussions.
Like most humor there are some piercing "truth is funny/truth hurts" points she makes. I have heard a non-blogging friend remark that bloggers get miffed when he runs into them in person and he jauntily inquires: What's new? They: What! Have you not been reading my blog?
Favorite line from the article: Remember: It isn't paranoia if they really are blogging about you.
I didn't think it could happen to me. (Sheepish downcast eyes...) But I am addicted to blogging. My new commitment is that if I have to choose (because of time constraints) between A) seeing a friend live, going for a run/hike, etc. or B) blogging, I definitively choose A.
